Cat D9G Engine Reclaim
D9G engine - D353 series. 385 HP.

The heads had been removed from this engine for a period of 2 years before arriving at Excel Diesel for a rebuild.

A full rebuild was undertaken with an extensive amount of machining required.

The crankshaft was "reclaimed",  a credit to Mendham Engineering.

 

CAT 3412 Engine rebuild
The engine was removed from a 657E scraper and had a failed camshaft.

A full strip and clean was carried out due to metal contamination.

All genuine parts used and multiple services such as machining, arranged by Excel Diesel to ensure minimal completion time.

This was an extensive rebuild and took approx. 200 hours to complete the engine and the retarder.

Cat D11R Engine Rebuild 

3508 D11R engine rebuild, carried out in Dalby.
  • Sandblasted and undercoated before strip down to ensure quality completed presentation
  • All bolts "crossed off" after tension, as per Excel Diesel quality control procedures
  • The "piston trolley" shows best parts practice methods in place 
  • Engine block bolted into "roll over stands", capable of 10T complete V16 engines
  • All large engines are Dyno Tested which is a mandatory part of quality control procedures

Cat 740 Machine Refurb
740 Cat articulated truck had a major overhaul completed.
  • All leaks and defects were repaired
  • Extensive body work 
  • Sandblasted and painted

As per policy, machines are returned to client greased and ready for work.

Cat 972G Machine Refurb
This loader was sent in to our workshop to be refurbished.
  • All leaks and defects were completed
  • Cabin overhaul including, replacement of panels and some wiring controls
  • Sandblasted and painted

Cat 16G x2 Field RePAIRS
This job highlights the capabilities of our field service equipment and staff. Two 16G graders were working in the same area, about 100 km north of Nyngan. Too far to transport to the nearest major repair centre, all repairs were carried out on site by Excel Diesel.
Machine 1
  • A failed final drive main shaft
  • The LH tandem was removed and fully stripped down to clean out contamination
  • Fully rebuilt on site
  • Down time, 3 days
Machine 2
  • Split and line bored 
  • Preventative maintenance work
  • Hydraulic pump repaired while the machine was split

Cat 972G Field repairs
This wheel loader had extensive repairs carried out at Gladstone. Another job highlighting our field service work, the ability of Excel Diesel to complete all work on site created a direct saving to the customer. 
  • Engine was changed out with a Cat reman unit
  • Rebuilt transmission on site by Excel Diesel
  • Rebuild transfer and torque convertor on site by Excel Diesel
