Cat D9G Engine Reclaim

D9G engine - D353 series. 385 HP.
The heads had been removed from this engine for a period of 2 years before arriving at Excel Diesel for a rebuild. A full rebuild was undertaken with an extensive amount of machining required. The crankshaft was "reclaimed", a credit to Mendham Engineering. |
CAT 3412 Engine rebuild

The engine was removed from a 657E scraper and had a failed camshaft.
A full strip and clean was carried out due to metal contamination. All genuine parts used and multiple services such as machining, arranged by Excel Diesel to ensure minimal completion time. This was an extensive rebuild and took approx. 200 hours to complete the engine and the retarder. |

This job highlights the capabilities of our field service equipment and staff. Two 16G graders were working in the same area, about 100 km north of Nyngan. Too far to transport to the nearest major repair centre, all repairs were carried out on site by Excel Diesel.
